METHODOLOGY / ASSUMPTIONS

Estimated from speed, throttle and brake telemetry using a physics model of the 2026 power unit. Not official FIA data. The confidence band is shown in the telemetry panel. Regulatory caps follow FIA 2026 technical rules; vehicle coefficients and control assumptions are Ghost Lap estimates.

FIA Australian GP power-unit limits (downloads a PDF)

  • Uses the committed speed, throttle, brake and gear samples; the lap trace itself is not synthetic.
  • The backend ICE-only baseline, session calibration and key-acceleration zones are unavailable in the static preview.
  • High-throttle samples are treated as deployment demand. Deployment is capped at 350 kW and by the pre-Miami 2026 speed ramp. The featured Melbourne qualifying profile uses a 7 MJ recovery cap.
  • Initial state of charge is assumed to be 80%. Formula 1 does not publish an official state-of-charge telemetry channel.
  • No lap-budget normalisation is applied. The confidence envelope includes an additional static-preview allowance of eight percentage points.
